CICIC

The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) is the referral office established to assist Canada in carrying out its obligations after it ratified the UNESCO Convention on the Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Degrees concerning Higher Education in the States belonging to the Europe Region, in 1990. This convention promotes international mobility by advocating wider recognition of higher education and professional qualifications.

Canada is also a signatory to the 1997 UNESCO/Council of Europe Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education (the Lisbon Recognition Convention). Ratification of this convention is pending.
