Information on requirements to practise
The occupations in the category of management consultants are not regulated in legislation in Canada, except in Quebec, where the title "administrateur agréé (Adm.A.)" is protected. However, most employers require a bachelor's or advanced degree or diploma in business administration or commerce, and eligibility for membership in the national professional association of management consultants. For more information about the profession and membership, contact
- Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada)
- 4 King Street West, Suite 815

- Phone : (416) 860-1515
- Phone (alternate): 1-800-268-1148
- Fax : (416) 860-1535
- Email : consulting@cmc-canada.ca

When you know where you will settle and work in Canada, contact the relevant provincial institute for information about membership and the certification process. In Quebec, contact the regulatory body - the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec - directly.
Information on assessment of qualifications
If you need to have your credentials assessed before coming to Canada, you may contact an evaluation service and consult our Fact Sheet No. 2, "Assessment and recognition of credentials for the purpose of employment in Canada." Although the evaluation services offer expert advice on how qualifications obtained abroad compare with credentials obtained in a Canadian province or territory, the evaluation is advisory only and does not guarantee recognition of your qualifications for employment or certification purposes in Canada. Please note that they charge a fee for their services.
